I just read on Weetabix‘ site that she’s doing her holiday card exchange again this year, wherein you sign up for a mailing list, get distributed on the mailing list, and send a holiday card to everyone on the list (no more than 40, if you choose).
I would love to do this, but at the same time, if I sign up, I know that I will have angina at some point this season.
Years ago, I signed up for postcardx, and got a few postcards from people around the country. Which was pretty damn awesome. I however, fell down on the job, and didn’t do so hot at sending out cards. The card exchange is a little less intense, and if you want, you don’t have to hand make your cards; you don’t even have to write epically long tidings in them, either.
But I’m already up to my eyeballs in Holiday projects between the stress of managing my office holiday commitments, the budgeting for presents, and managing the birthdays and anniversaries between now and Christmas. I was getting so frazzed about the state of affairs with The Boy’s annual Christmas party, that I’ve gone to taking a purely reactionary and monetary approach to it. Just tell me how much you need me to write the check for, honey.
So, yes, it is with some trepidation that I look toward maybe getting involved with the holiday card exchange.
I have until Sunday to figure out if I’m going to do it.
