Christmas is coming up really soon…

  • When will you start your shopping?

I have already started my Christmas shopping.

I’ve had something of a love/hate relationship with “the Holidays”. As much as I loved getting presents, I loathed not having any money, and feeling like a schlub. The other half of that is that I do not like crowds, nor do I feel like competing to buy stuff (hence my behatred for ebay.)

Now that I have money, I feel very much into the holiday spirit, and I’m very excited to pick out gifts that I think that the recipients will love. But, I still am doing all of my shopping online. I’ve even bought all of my Christmas wrap, ribbons, cards and tags.

  • How many people do you have to buy for?

About 15 people, but I’m doubling-up on a lot of the gifts, as well as splitting the cost of “group gifts” for our mutual friends with The Boy. I’ve got it pretty well down. Email me if you want to see my insane OneNote notebook of Christmas shopping: I have my personal wish list, a list of all the people I want to buy for, and an Excel spreadsheet of people, presents, prices, coupons, shipping and totals).

The Boy says I’m completely OCD and insane, but this is the only way I feel like I have control over an otherwise obscenely stressful time of year. If I don’t write this stuff down, or have some record of it, I will forget what’s going on, and someone’s going to get left out. Besides, I like being a little nuts.

  • What are your favourite places to shop at?
